It is free and the art is good for your soul!
A leader knows how to serve and Jack has served on Oliver Town Council for 17 years. He has lead the way when he saw a good thing and stubbornly held up issues he did not agree with. We loved him and hated him, all in the name of Jack, serving the people of Oliver.
And how many of us will step up to that plate?
Thank you for your service Jack, we wish joy for the next chapter.
What are you thinking, you have been here before?
These are exciting times, things are starting to move forward, things we hoped would happen during my terms on Council and as mayor. I want to get involved.
How do you represent people with an opposite opinion when in council.
Difficult Question. When you make a decision you look at the overall picture. You have to decide what is best for the majority. A Referendum may become necessary. Referendums are costly, only Town taxpayers are entitled to vote and they must produce evidence of their status. It is so easy to take a vocal minority as being representative of the majority. Therefore it is important that every taxpayer be involved in the future of Oliver.
Name a ruler you admire.
Elizabeth II. She has presence, she represents my country of birth. She has the poise and strength to represent Britain. When you consider her age she is a powerhouse!
Define leadership.
Winston Churchill. He led the Commonwealth through World War two.
What do you want to say to the people who just see grey hair.
You can’t judge a persons ability or drive by the colour of their hair.
Why should we trust you?
I have integrity and it is proven. As Mayor I made an ethical decision which caused me emotional stress but was a benefit for our Community. My word is my bond.
What would you pack to take to Mars?
The basic ‘fundamentals’ to survive; then my wife, my daughter, my son-in-law and my daughter’s dog! Plus Doggie Bags! This is the most difficult question you have asked me!
Hello Oliver,
We are now offering advertising on oliveronline.ca. We have had over 10,500 hits and have developed a strong local readership. Contact leza@eastlink.ca. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for the support!
I had to ask!
What are you thinking! Running for council, opening yourself up to public scrutiny?
I think I am good listener, I am not in this just to bring all of my personal opinions to council. I want to be a conduit, the voice of the people of Oliver. I want to do everything I can to foster relationships between the community and council.
When on council, how do you represent people with an opposite opinion to yours, especially if theirs is the majority?
I think they are the most important people to listen to. I have to listen to their opinions, I already know mine.
Name a historical leader you admire.
Gloria Stienem, she is a stanch feminist! I have some of that in me!
Define leadership.
The most important part of leadership is listening, and a willingness to learn.
What do you want to say to those who see only the purple hair?
I am easy to spot, come talk to me!
Why should we trust you?
I have chosen to raise my family here. The decisions made by council will affect them.
What would you pack to take to Mars?
My Family, my guitar and my purple hair dye!

I love Bugs! Here is a praying mantis laying her egg! I do apologize for the focus, it was a bit of an acrobatic shot.

A very happy Sunday to you!
The Wild Woman, Spirit Animal 2017 has wrapped up.
We had so much fun and so much great art came out of it.
I thank the ladies for letting me visually create their spirit animals, Aimee Grice, the Peacock, Tiffiany Lynn the Owl, Sue James, the Butterfly, Hilary Drummond, the Lynx, Jennifer Jules, the Wild Woman, Linda Harris the Energizer Bunny, Maureen Sparrow, the Bear, Suzi Guerin, the Turtle, Diane Gane, the Owl, Shelley Stewart, the Monkey, Polly Mckay, the Raven, and Cindy Thorpe, the Butterfly.
Dianne Gibson, for her creativity on some of the costumes! Specially Cindy Thorpe’s butterfly. I had envisioned a golden butterfly with her golden wings flying high, we got to Dianne’s Dressmaker studio and she had a white dress and flowered fabric for the wings. I loved it!
Diane Gane had her costume all pick out . . and then she let me glue all those feathers on her. Must admit I think she needs a pedicure!
The turtle, Suzi Guerin, kept me awake! A TURTLE, how do I make this real. Must admit I do love the results and Dianne did a great job of the costume with fake ostrich leather!
More stories to come. However I have to go and strike the Gallery. Thanks Mo for the Gallery space.
And Just one more! Cousins being Wild! I let them dress me!
