Good Morning Oliver!

Totally enjoying the “Stay Cation”!

In the continuing saga of City Girl vs the Oliver Outback, Mother nature is winning! Would I expect anything different.

Dianne Gibson, the Dressmaker popped by no skin on grass. One cup of tea later, when she leaves, one snakeskin on the grass.

And I have not see her since.

I could set my watch by her. It was amazing she would slither out from under the step at the same time every morning. Must admit I am pleased she has relocated. The skin was fascinating. To me it felt like a  soft leather shamie. This is the underbelly, the whole thing was intact. It was the patterns and textures in the grass that caught Dianne’s eye when she was leaving the house. Needless to say we photographed it in many different ways and angles. And so ends, I hope, the saga of City Girl VS the Snake that moved in. . . and out!

Meet Connor, Spray Artist!

High school student Connor is an amazing young Spray Paint Artist! At this years Barrel Painting for the Art Walk, Connor took a chance, stepped up to the plate and created a great Barrel.

Connor explains a bit of his process in this video. We thank Connor for taking time from his busy teen life to participate in the Barrel Painting, hope he comes back again!

However the most fun was seeing his influence over the other two young artist, Arabella 7 and Marina 11. Even though they did not have spray cans they used there bottle paints just like he did, flipping them around, squirting paint right on the surface and then taking plastic and making textures. It was wonderful to watch.

Great job on the barrel, Conner and I’m thinking this young man needs a wall in Oliver to paint!

Another fabulous teen in Oliver!

The Spiritual Market

Thank you Patti Seidler for organizing the first Spiritual Market in Oliver at Parks and Rec. And also to the vendors for a very informative afternoon. Guest were treated to Shamanic Intuitive Healing.Palm readings. What the tarot cards had to say. Spiritual Guidance.  Energy oils for you and your pets. And mediums who will talk to the spirits. I was most interested in this, yet a bit leary of what the ancestors have to say!

The Spiritual Market was a great success and really interesting. The  donations at the door, raised $190.00 for the Alley Cats Alliance.

Looking forward to the next Spiritual Market in October at Oliver Parks and Rec.

Happy Monday Oliver!

I love Oliver after the rain! The bluff is looking rather majestic with those designer clouds going on. A different set of colours. Nice! The air smells sweet! Feels a bit like VancouverPuddles, something to reflect in, something to splash in and if you are a dog . . the possibilities are endless.

Oliveronline.ca has something to reflect on, the one year anniversary coming up, July 4 2018. How much fun have I had with this?? Lots! And the possibilities are endless.

Basically oliveronline is a reflection of the good stuff about Oliver, BC  through the eyes of a Artist. And I enjoy telling photo stories about the people in Oliver.

Oliver, BC is a little town in the only desert in Canada, population about 5000.

Come and enjoy our wineries, Artists, shops on Main Street and the latest hot spots  . . Sawmill Rd for markets and and Station St for good food at The Vagabond, then pamper yourself at Beyond Bliss, hit the library for and the Dress Maker.

Don’t forget the Legion and a Movie!

Do stop by the Vagabond Food Truck on Station Street for a to go picnic. Enjoy it with the family down at Rotary park on Tuc-el-nuit lake, splash around in the water enjoy the great view of the Bluff.

Yuppers it is picnic season. Family entertainment both local and for tourist. And kids remember picnics more than a nice restaurant where their best behaviour is well . . Moms you know, not really good enough and they are trying!

Let them loose at the beach, Hot dogs and chip, c00kies and ice cream.

Basic summer fun!
